Tales from the Land of Gullah

Come and visit the Land of Gullah! Here are some of the fun things you can do:

  • Gullah Livin' - design a quilt, make music, and more.
  • Basket Name - find your Gullah nickname
  • Gullah Garden - learn and watch how they planted their crops
  • Tellin' Forest - create and act out your own story with Gullah words

Discovery Theater

Members $6 ; General $8
Ages 1 & up.

This 180-seat theater offers a range of performing arts styles for children and families including puppets, dance, storytelling, circus acts and more. Click here for tickets and showtimes.

Permanent Exhibitions

Year-round indoor and outdoor exhibitions through the museum. 

  • Lookout Cove
    Outdoor 2.5 acre features natural, cultural and built icons of the Bay Area.
  • Tot Spot
    Indoor and outdoor experience just for children 42" or shorter.
  • Art Studios
    Children of all ages experience hands-on activities in one of our two studios.
  • Bay Hall
    An interactive simulation with Bay Area specific areas to play in.
  • Wave Workshop
    Educational play about the local habitat and marine life.
  • Discovery Theater
    180-seat theater for performing arts for children and families.
