Annual Gala

Playdate 2008
Saturday, May 3
Fort Baker Beach

On May 3, towers of presents sparkled and champagne flowed as nearly 500
guests celebrated the Museum’s 20th anniversary at Playdate 2008. The outpouring of support for Playdate raised more than $590,000, to be directed toward the Museum’s art and science programs, festivals and performances, and scholarships for under-served children and their families. Many thanks to our founders as well as our generous donors, bidders and attendees who made Playdate 2008 a smashing success.

A very special thank you to event co-chairs Tracy Barsotti, Christy Cooper, Karyn Flynn, Claire-Marie Laidley, to our corporate sponsors, in-kind sponsors, and to all who attended for their generosity and spirit that contributed to this amazing evening.

Goblin Jamboree 2008

Saturday, October 18
Sunday, October 19

Children and their families were invited to come in costume and explore the Bay Area Discovery Museum, transformed into a haunted wonderland complete with games, attractions and live entertainment. They rode a train and ponies, enrolled
in the witches’ school, visited the petting zoo and enjoyed a full brew of games, activities and live entertainment.

Check our flickr page daily as we upload batches of photos from the weekend!
