The Mission of the Bay Area Discovery Museum is to engage, delight and educate children through exploration of and connection with the local environment and the diverse communities that live here. Fundamental to this mission is the Museum's commitment to ensure that children and families from diverse and varied communities of the Bay Area have access to the Museum; feel a sense of welcome, safety, and respect; and participate in a programs of relevance to their interests and learning needs. To achieve this ambitious goal, the Museum will strive at all levels – from staffing to program and audience development - to embrace a vision of diversity and community involvement.
