Commitment to Our Community

A primary mission of the the Bay Area Discovery Museum is to ensure that children from the diverse and varied communities of the Bay Area have access to the Museum and participate fully in our many educational programs.  We want all families to feel welcome and a sense of inclusion, safety and respect while visiting the Museum.

The Museum interacts with the community around it to achieve this mission through the following three initiatives:

  • Partnerships in the Community
  • Community Outreach Programs
  • Festivals and Special Events

Celebrating Communities Partnerships

The “Celebrating Communities” program offers partners benefits that range from discounted and/or free admission to a tailored menu including Family Days, program scholarships, participating in Museum exhibitions, subsidized bus transportation, use of Museum facilities or Museum attendance at community events. More than 100 organizations participate in the Celebrating Community partner program.  If you are interested in becoming a Museum partner, please call (415) 339-3922.
